- 其他要求Additional notes printed with the table: in Hainan the maximum GAOKAO score is out of 750 and contributes 90% to the final grade score with another 10% from the Huikao score (maximum 150), so the total mark for Hainan is out of 900. In Yunnan the maximum GAOKAO score is out of 750 but a student can get up to an additional 22 points for senior high school performance; Birmingham states it will not consider the additional 22 points.

Birmingham publishes a per-province table converting its 80% Gaokao threshold into marks, labelled as the GAOKAO 2025 entry requirement and to be used for students who have their GAOKAO results in 2025 or earlier. For almost every province the total maximum score is 750, the 80% average score is 600, the maximum mathematics score is 150 and the 80% Mathematics score is 120. Shanghai is scored out of 660 with an 80% average score of 528. Hainan's maximum GAOKAO score is out of 750 and contributes 90% to the final grade score, with another 10% from the Huikao score out of 150, giving a total of 900 and an 80% score of 720.
